Greek

Adv: Revision of all the sounds and practice of reading syllables and short phrases. Enjoy stories in Greek. Core text: “Trigonosparoulis vs. the Big Shark”; participate in discussions about friendship and write a short narrative. 

Beg.: Daily activities, Summer in Greece, stories, rhymes, songs, playground games, crafts relevant to the topics.

Greek Culture

Exploring Traditional Tales through Aesop’s Fables
Short engaging stories that promote key values like kindness, honesty and clever thinking.

  • Explore fables with common themes such as Friendship, Greed and Quarrels
  • Think deeply about the morals contained
  • Activities are designed to build comprehension, creativity and confidence.

Fables include The Dog and His Bone, The City Mouse and the Country Mouse, The Wind and the Sun and The Lion and the Mouse.

Music

How can you help at home?

  • Ensure that you read a range of texts at home, not just fictional stories. Non-fiction texts can include leaflets, information books and poetry. 
  • Explore plants at home. What grows in your garden or near your house? Can you grow some plants together?
