Inspiring Learning Every Day
At Byron College, learning is an adventure — creative, challenging, and full of curiosity.
Following the National Curriculum for England, enriched with global perspectives and outdoor learning, we inspire children to explore, take risks, and grow.
Key Stage 1 begins in Year 1 (age 5), offering a supportive environment where academic and personal development thrive.

Bringing Learning to Life
Our lessons are far from ordinary. Students investigate, question, and problem-solve across a rich and balanced curriculum. From the spark of a science experiment to the thrill of writing a powerful story, learning is meaningful, relevant, and fun. We place a strong focus on literacy and numeracy while embracing topics that link subjects in exciting, cross-curricular ways.

A Whole-Child Approach
We nurture not only academic achievement but also emotional wellbeing, kindness, and a strong sense of self. Students learn to collaborate, reflect, and lead. They celebrate diversity, take responsibility, and develop the values they’ll carry into the wider world.

Learning That Lasts a Lifetime
By combining high academic standards with rich, varied experiences, we aim to instil a love of learning that lasts long after students leave our school. Every child is encouraged to dream big, work hard, and be proud of who they are becoming.

Beyond the Classroom
We believe some of the best learning happens outside four walls.
Forest School sessions ignite a love for nature, build resilience, and promote independence as children explore, create, and thrive in the outdoors.
Educational visits—from museums to archaeological sites and local farms—bring learning to life and deepen students’ understanding of the world around them.
Performing arts are at the heart of our creative curriculum. Every child has the chance to shine through music, drama, and dance, developing confidence, teamwork, and self-expression.
