Uniform

We believe that a school uniform provides a sense of pride and community identity for our internationally diverse pupil community. The Byron College uniform is both practical and comfortable and is worn by all pupils from Nursery until the end of Year 11.

Uniform details and the order forms (for LB Creations) can be viewed and downloaded below. Please ensure that your child's uniform is clearly tagged with their name and that black leather shoes are worn at all times, except on PE days.

Sixth Form Dress Code

A level study requires a mature and professional approach. As such it is important that pupils dress in a mature and professional manner and serve as role models for younger pupils. Pupils should come to school in smart attire and ensure that their overall appearance is appropriate to that of a working or office environment.

BOYS

• Trousers, chinos, black jeans (not faded, frayed or ripped)
• Smart tailored shorts are permitted in summer (not tracksuit material or board shorts)
• Shirts, smart polo shirts, polo necks, smart jumpers (no hoodies or large slogans/logos)
• Round-neck t-shirts may be worn as an undershirt 
• Clean shoes/sandals/boots in any colour (no flip flops)

GIRLS:

• Skirts/dresses (no shorter than 4 inches/10cm above the knee), leather and black denim are permitted
• Trousers, black jeans or jeggings (not faded, frayed or ripped). Thin leggings are not permitted unless worn beneath a dress or skirt.
• Smart tailored shorts are permitted in summer (not tracksuit material or board shorts) 
• Blouse, shirt or smart top, jumpers, cardigans. Sleeveless tops are permitted but no thin/spaghetti straps or visible bra straps. No low-cut tops which show cleavage, bare shoulders or midriff. 
• Clean shoes/sandals/boots in any colour (no flip flops). Heels should be of modest height.

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS:

• Skimpy shorts or hot pants 
• Sheer, low-cut tops or spaghetti straps
• Hats of any kind (in lessons) 
• Sunglasses (in lessons) 
• Over-sized brand names, slogans or logos
• Hoodies
• Track suits
