Welcome to the Junior School

Thank you for accessing our website.

Byron College is a vibrant pastiche of over 40 different nationalities each bringing its own particular flavour and cultural background. We celebrate the fact that our differences are vastly outweighed by the mutual needs that bind us.

Although we strive for academic excellence, we also exercise a holistic approach to each pupil, recognising that an unhappy child is incapable of learning and that we must nurture the heart as much as the intellect.

Our children are polite, well-motivated individuals who foster strong friendships with their classmates and enjoy every facet of school life.

Junior School Admission Procedure

Since the change in the Greek Education law last year, pupils of any nationality, including Greeks, are now eligable to apply for a place in the school.

Years 1-6 are divided into two stages, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Years 1&2 fall into Key Stage 1, Years 3-6 into Key Stage 2.
Usually pupils entering Year 1 are 5 years of age by August 31st of the year of entry. Due to our international composition however, entry levels are often decided after consultation between parents and the head, particularily if a pupil joins mid-year or has been taught under a different educational system to date.

Individual syllabuses for each year group are available on request, or can be downloaded from this site.

Should you wish to register your child after receipt of an information package and interview with the Junior School Headmistress, there is a clearly defined procedure. You will be required to present the following information:

  • Completed application and medical form.
  • A photocopy of your child's passport
  • A photocopy of his/her health book indicating that all inoculations are up to date.
  • A transcript in English of any previous schooling if applicable.

If you would like to know more about the junior school, please contact the school secretary to make an appointment.

Best wishes
Dominique Ksezonakis
Junior school Headmistress
