Senior School » Drama
In Grades 7 to 9 all pupils take weekly Drama lessons as a part of their school curriculum.
The course does not focus simply on performance, but rather on pupils' awareness of space, voice projection, movement to music, mime, mask-work and stage production.
The pupils are encouraged to work in groups and to develop their critical skills when watching other groups perform. They focus on pupil use of the stage area, levels, team-work and voice projection.
The course is essentially a practical one and this is reflected in the exam set at the end of the year to assess the pupils' development.
The Drama department is thrilled to be offering Drama as a GCSE subject option for Grade 10 pupils and our first cohort of candidates' examination will be in 2005.
There are many keen and talented young thespians in the school who prove their ability and excellence in productions throughout the year and during the Annual Panhellenic Forensics Tournament. |
