Senior School » Modern Languages
All pupils are encouraged to study languages other than English.
Greek is taught throughout the Senior School and French is the most popular "foreign" language although a good number of pupils study Arabic.
Pupils are taught at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Pupils are also taught Urdu, Spanish, Italian where demand is demonstrated.
Modern Greek is offered from Grades 1 - 13 and senior school pupils, in addition to the development of language skills, are taught Greek History and Literature appropriate to their level and to their own national background.
In addition to the IGCSE, AS/ A level GCE exam preparation, pupils are taught for and entered into the Greek Ministry of Education exams in Ellinomathia.
The Greek department's aim is not only to teach Greek but to make pupils feel comfortable in Greece and benefit from the experience of living here. To that end, regular visits to archaeological and historical sites are arranged; visits to various museums and theatre performances are also organised throughout the year.
