Year 13 profiles  


Dylan

Dylan is from the U.K, aims to study Biochemistry at York University.

"I have enjoyed studying Chemistry, Biology and Maths at A' Level.
 I have also passed ICT at A' Level. I found my teachers to be both
 inspiring and supportive.
 I have appreciated a flexible timetable in the 6th form which has allowed
 me to study independently".

Dylan is a 2-time winner of the Panhellenic Forensics Oral Interpretation
category!



Stephanie

Stephanie aims to study English Literature at Cambridge University.

"Byron has been my second home for more than half my life. I've made friends here, I've put my nose
to the grindstone whilst not forgetting that life isn't only about work; and I've been taught by teachers
who actually care for each and every pupil.
In June a remarkable chapter in my life will close, but it will be replete with memories".

Steph is Deputy Headgirl and performed in the "Man of La Mancha" as the piano accompanist.





Maria Veronica

Maria Veronica was born in Greece and is aiming to study Journalism and/
or Communications at either Cardiff or Greenwich university.

"To work hard, take responsibility and to act as a role model to younger members of the school's community
was what was expected of me when I joined the 6th form. My expectations was to be properly guided
through my studies in order to achieve the grades needed for me to attend university. I ask of my teachers
to prepare me for the future, by giving me the independance to explore my full potential in my academic life".

Vero is Deputy Headgirl, an actress and duet-actor, fashion editor of the Byron Bugle and social events officer for the school.



Christine

Born in Beirut and will now study Communication at the Lebanese American
University.

"Being a 6th former is about handling your responsibilities and duties towards yourself, the school
and your fellow classmates. About your expectations of the future and your ability to pursue your dreams.
It is the final step you take before you realise you have a new ladder to
climb - university."

Christine is Headgirl for 2009-2010; winner of the Panhellenic Forensics
Oratory in 2009; actress in school plays and a two-time finalist in Duet- Acting- Dramatic.


Ayesha

Born in Pakistan and will now return to train as a teacher.

"For me, my 6th form experience has played a huge role in my development towards a mature adult.
Over the two years I have came to understand myself as an independent
personality; I have been empowered with skills that will last me a lifetime and will aid me as a lifelong learner.
My teachers have provided me with the benefits of their gained wisdom
but, more importantly, have made me feel comfortable and confident enough to seek help without experiencing shame.
I am already nostalgic for the life-long friendships I have made."

Ayesha is a Prefect, an actress, a determined trainee and an excellent
leader of the Embassy's community of children.
